Mobile phones 'key to modern relationships'

SOME regard it as a disruptive, stress-creating device, but the mobile phone has become a crucial aid in modern relationships, a study has found.
The Australian National University (ANU) today released findings following a survey of more than 1300 mobile phone users, along with an analysis of each respondent's last 10 calls.

It found the mobile, invented as an executive business tool, was now used predominantly to contact family and friends - at 48 per cent and 26 per cent of all calls respectively.
